Happy hour regulars may recall Kupros from our September 2010 edition.  We were on the porch last time – might be a bit cool this time, so check for us in the bar area or upstairs, in that order.

Pyramid is located in Downtown Sacramento at the corner of 11th and K St (1029 K St is the address).  We have a space reserved in the front bar area – straight ahead when you walk in.

As usual, friends, significant others, etc, of Cornellians are welcome to join us.

Zinck’s night is always a great time, and is usually one of our best turnouts for the year.  We hope to CU there!

Festivities will be at Sudwerk Brewery in Davis, with a 5pm start time.  Just pay for your own food and drinks, and feel free to come and go as you please.

Haven’t been to River Rock yet? It just opened up last Saturday – very cool place, over 40 beers (mostly Northern California Microbrews on tap).

project that involves over 120 volunteer Cornell students, 7 faculty
members, 3 African organizations, and 80 underprivileged African
children. The project team is called Cornell University Sustainable
Design (“CUSD”) and they are designing and building a sustainable
pre-school for Cosmo City, South Africa, this summer.

As the first
American university to collaborate on a project with the
Johannesburg-based non-profit organization Education Africa, they are
not only helping a developing community in South Africa, but also
providing Cornell students the chance to design a structure that will
actually become a reality.

Part of this process was the publication of
a 202-page reference book about Cosmo City, available in Cornell
libraries and for sale online. To realize this project, CUSD has to
raise all funds for construction, estimated at $150,000, by May 2011.

About the Glee Club

Since the first days of the Orpheus Glee Club more than one hundred and twenty-five years ago, the Glee Club of Cornell has become a home to thousands of young men who have traveled in all walks of life, from music and medicine, to agriculture and astronomy.  The group has performed on Malysian television, in the Moscow conservatory, sung in more than a dozen languages and logged hundreds of thousands of miles, brought music to millions of people as near and far as the students of Cornell and rural school children in Taipei.

Today, the Cornell University Glee Club is led by Professor Scott Tucker and is considered as one of the premier collegiate ensembles in the United States.
